Long lonely road
Poetry

Picture by Lucas Dross from pexels
The long, lonely road stretches on,
No end or beginning in sight,
Emptiness and darkness surround me,
An abyss I cannot fight.
The flicker of stars in the sky,
Promise of hope in the night,
Fading like a forgotten dream,
Dissolving into the light.
The winds blow prophetic warnings,
And whisper secrets in my ear,
Of an unknowable destiny,
A future that I cannot hear.
The darkness taunts me onward
Through my distant, foggy flight,
Lifting my sorrows to heaven,
To roam this endless night.
