How I gained over 400 subscribers on YouTube in one month (do it yourself)
Everyone who has attempted the art of content creating on YouTube has one great challenge and that is gaining subscribers.
I started my YouTube journey officially last and I still am not proud of the kind of content I put out yet. However, I feel I have no choice but to keep the fire burning.
I have about 3 channels right now. The first is my vlog (Etim Unyime – 544 subscribers), the second is an entertainment news channel (ITYF entertainment – 92 subscribers) and the third is for my music channel (King Kanzi – 530 subscribers).
The third channel is actually four years old and I have a viral video I had posted there. In four years, it got over 169 views with just 11 subscribers. I wanted to start posting more lyric videos on the channel but I had to make more people see the first video.
I didn’t want a situation whereby I post another video and have to wait another four years before anything tangible happens. I decided to ‘do it myself’.
How?
Well, this is exactly how I gained over 400 subscribers in one month against 11 subscribers in four years.
I had shown this particular video to a friend and he was really impressed not just with the video but the lyrics of the song too. He encouraged me to push it and I did just that.
You may already wonder why I have Twitter as a sub heading, well that’s because this amazing app was so useful in getting the said result.
When I was promoting the audio of my music some four years ago, I had used Twitter to share it and I figured it was the best platform still. My old Twitter account was gone so I had to start with a new one.
I started tagging random people on Twitter asking them to support my music and help me get to 1000 subscribers and that was it. While the majority of them didn’t subscribe, I was able to garner over 430 subscribers in the first month, 1.6k views and over 600 followers on Twitter.
The result was interesting plus people were genuinely interested in the video and the comments were positive. I felt so good about the result I got and after I got 500 subscribers, I posted another lyric video of my song.
I know some will ask, why not just promote it? Well, the truth is I didn’t have the funds to do so I had to ‘do it myself’.
How much time I spend on Twitter every day
To achieve this, I spend at least four hours on Twitter everyday. I gained at least an average of 15 subscribers everyday combined with views and followers on Twitter. This is my new strategy and it’s helped me get to over 500 subscribers now.
Challenges
Like everything in life, there are also challenges and one of them is;
Data
One of the major challenges I have discovered in the process is data. I currently run 3 YouTube channels and I have to create content for each. Data is really expensive especially when you are doing more spending at the start up.
Watch time
While you may grow in views and subscribers, watch time may need way more views before you get monetized. This hack is strictly to help boost your subscribers count so if it’s what you are looking for, good for you.
