A cry for justice

In the halls of power, they sit and scheme

These Nigerian elites, corrupt and obscene

Greed and ambition fuel their desire

They cling to power, their hearts on fire

No respect for the will of the people

No respect for democracy or the rule of law

They’ve sold their souls to the devil for gold

Their wickedness knows no bounds, their conscience cold

They rig elections, loot the nation’s wealth

Leaving the masses in poverty and ill-health

Their corruption knows no limit or end

A plague on the land, they refuse to bend

The people cry out for a savior, like Moses of old

To deliver them from bondage and break the stronghold

They pray for a new Nigeria, where justice and accountability thrive

Where the corrupt and wicked will no longer connive

The day will come when their reign will be over

Their power and wealth will fade, they’ll be no longer

The dawn of a new Nigeria will rise

Where the people’s will and justice will be the prize

Inspired by the February 2023 Nigerian presidential election
